Hello,
Here's your Perfect System newsletter. A week late - sorry, I've been travelling (that's the 21st century equivalent of "a dog ate my homework").
In this issue:
1. Some interesting statistics
Some Interesting Statistics
Statistics - ...yawn.... - but with so much hype on the internet it can be hard to get a handle on reality at times. However, here's a couple of interesting statistics for you - and since I'm not trying to sell you anything, hopefully you can take them at face value and act upon them.
- According to the U.S Small Business Administration, the
average website earns $1,250 per month.
- Other independent studies have estimated that each contact
in a well run "opt-in" list will earn the list owner an average of $1 per month.
Personally I find both of these facts very interesting. Partly because it's so hard to get genuine information regarding business on the internet but mainly because these two facts give a lot of information about how you should form your strategy to earn online.
If you've already read my article about how to double your internet income then you'll be aware that I think it makes more sense to have a number of different websites earning a small amount for you than to try and have one single website raking in huge sums of money. There are many reasons for this - if you haven't read the article then click the link above and see whether or not you agree with the logic.
And if you've been on the internet for any time at all then you will certainly have heard the expression "the money's in the list". Now you know just how much money is in the list - $1/month/contact.
That doesn't sound like much does it? But if you could build a list of say 4,000 to 6,000 email addresses then you have an income of $48,000 to $72,000 per year. That's a decent amount of money.
If you could build a list of 30,000 or even over 100,000 email addresses then we're talking about the kind of money that could seriously alter your perspective on life.
And just in case you're thinking that you can't build a list that big let me tell you that you can. A list of 4,000 to 6,000 subscribers is pretty easy. I operate a number of different lists and I average between 20 and 25 signups a day - of course there are opt outs and unsubscribes along the way - but the list(s) keep growing.
Here's another interesting statistic - supplied by AWeber. The average opt-in list contains 12,561 subscribers. That's a little more than $150,000 per annum.
Of course, it takes time and patience to do this, it's not a get rich quick scheme - but it can be done.
The next newsletter will contain information about how you can grow your own list at little or no cost. In the meantime why not have a look at the section on "recruiting" at the site if you haven't already done so? The principles are pretty much the same.
Enjoy your weekend.
